Hello dear students,
This morning when I checked my email, I had 42 emails from Weebly. Did you know that every time you comment on the blog, I get an email? A few (maybe 5 or fewer) comments were appropriate responses to the blog, complimenting the author or sharing an opinion about something, like DARE. Unfortunately, many were just words (like "summer") or random letters. Those are not helpful or meaningful comments. They waste space in my email inbox and make me feel sad that you students who are doing that are wasting your time in class. Commenting on the blog is not a place for you to chat, either. The purpose of the blog is to share information. The purpose of commenting is to respond to that information. If you are confused, see the presentation on how to comment on the righthand side of this page. You only have a few days left of school. Please make good choices and end on a positive note. Sincerely, Mrs. Sheffels

Triple Neon Mega Super Amazing Awesome Fun Day of Awesomeness!!!
Three cool things happened today. We start off going to P.E. and doing really fun things. Later in the day we did D.A.R.E. which is of course my favorite subject. And finally we went to Fowler Middle School and we got to stay there until the end of the day, which means NO MATH!!! Is that awesome or what? By Alex H. We took our laws of motion and forces test and I hope everyone did well. Today was also the 5th grade talent show. It was so great! There were so many good acts. There was glowstick dances, to singing, to comedys. I also can’t wait to find out who will be the MCs, and the backstage helpers in the Variety show on the last day of school. Have a great memorial weekend!
-Blogged by Alex B. This week we had DARE and we watched a video about bath salts and it was scary! We also learned about other drugs that can affect your body. This week we also started our opinion writing test. Our topics were why 5th grade is the best or what the best subject in school is. In P.E. we are getting ready for field day and everyone is very excited. In music, were doing recorder karate. This week we also learned about hot air balloons in reading.

We have been working on our state reports. We filled up the compliment jar and got a marshmallow fight on the blacktop! The father daughter dance was on march 1st. It was so much fun! Our program and state fair are coming up soon! We are Starting a new unit in math. We are learning about function tables and graphs. Remember to be safe respectful and responsible so we can get compliments!
By Lily Hello class! I hope all is going well with you. Here is a picture of my little Julia sleeping. Do you like her shirt? She really likes the quilt you made her. Thomas' mom took a really nice picture of her on it, but the file is too big to upload here. Ms. Reed said you are all working so hard on your state reports. Keep it up! I am so proud to hear you are doing so well. I'm loving being a mom. Julia is a wonderful baby and I love being with her! My husband and I are often tired though, because babies wake up a lot in the night to be fed and sometimes take a lot of work! I miss you and hope to visit soon! Blogged by: Mrs. Sheffels Congratulation students you have won a marshmallow fight for filling up the compliment jar. There was an ambassador meeting last Monday that talked about the garden clean up meet. The story we did this week was called the Ultimate Field Trip. How was the marshmallow fight? It got a little messy. Congratulations for the great and prepared students who got hard workers recess! We are starting rhythms! Are you prepared? Stay tuned for more blogs coming about every week!!
